Profile of women residing and participating in programming at THI

a   125 women & children lived at THI during 2008

a   51 women entered THI in 2008

a   20% were age 30 or younger, 58% age 31-50, 22% were age 51-61

a     74% were African American, 22% Caucasian, and 5% were Latina or other racial/ethnic background

a 25% reported a history of domestic violence

a 24% were in recovery for alcohol abuse

a 32% were in recovery for drug abuse

a    20% faced challenges of mental illness

a 65 women and children participated in the follow–up program

 

106 women successfully participated in THI’s program in 2008

a    70% moved into permanent housing

a    78% achieved stable incomes

a    56% increased their skill levels
