Participants who come to THI must want to make the changes in their lives which will enable them to move from homelessness to self-sufficiency. We can help women obtain this goal by providing a safe environment, encouraging staff, and our comprehensive programs and classes.
Participants must be referred to THI through homeless and domestic violence shelters, drug and alcohol treatment centers and the Northeast Pre-Release Center.
A woman may stay up to two years and must attend all required classes, complete programs specific to your needs, contribute to rent, and remain drug and alcohol free. Children are encouraged to visit.
Women eligible for participation at THI are:
•Homeless women between the ages of 18 and 61
•Single or have a child 18 months or younger
•Receiving public assistance or have a limited income
•Not actively abusing alcohol or drugs
•Able to function independently
•Able and willing to participate in education, job training and employment
•Committed to participating in a structured two-year Personal Development Program
